Family and Friends
We are both fortunate to have been raised in loving and stable homes, with very supportive parents. Steve’s parents were married for 50 years when his father passed away a few years ago, and they had been married since his mother was only 17 years old! Wendy was born and raised in Southern California, and her parents were also happily married for over 40 years when her mother died in 1995.
We both enjoyed great childhoods with lots of close family time, dinners together every night, and camping trips every summer. Wendy fondly remembers regular trips to libraries, beaches and parks, and wonderful family vacations in Europe, Canada and Mexico. Steve has happy memories of his family canoeing and swimming, playing in the snow, and enjoying card and board games together. Both of our families emphasized learning and education, as well as exploring and adventure, and we plan to continue this tradition.

We’re grateful for our close relationships now with our parents, siblings, extended family and friends. Wendy’s father, brother, sister-in-law and nephews live an hour away and we see them often for dinners, hikes, parties etc. We really treasure their company and it’s always a treat to spend time together. Steve’s mother, sisters, daughter, granddaughter and extended family live in Washington State and we see them at least a couple times a year. They’re all excited about the upcoming new addition to the family, and have been waiting patiently for our new baby to arrive!
In addition to our loving families, we have a large community of supportive friends who are all enthusiastic about us becoming parents. We appreciate all our kind and caring friends, and enjoy visiting with them whenever we can. Some of our friends are glad we’ll have a new playmate for their children, and others want to be involved with trips to the park and much more. Everyone is eager to spend time with the baby. This child will be VERY loved by many people!
