About Wendy
Wendy has a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of California, and she was a college professor specializing in human development (infant, child, adolescent and adult). Now, she is a master certified relationship and life coach and workshop facilitator. She works with clients and leads groups both in person and on the telephone. Wendy is dedicated to helping people create lives they love, and bring love into their lives. Her schedule is flexible and she plans to work part-time and spend most of her time with our baby.
Wendy has always wanted to be a mom and is thrilled to have a chance to create a family with Steve, the love of her life. She adores her two nephews, and her friends’ and family’s children, and enjoys spending time with all of them. Wendy’s friends and family would describe her as warm, loving, intelligent, energetic, playful, joyful, thoughtful, empathetic and easy-going. Her friends, family, clients and colleagues feel welcomed, supported, encouraged and inspired around her. She cares about people, listens to them with respect, and people feel better just being around her.
Wendy enjoys spending time with Steve, family and friends, reading, writing, dancing, yoga, live theatre, blues and rock music, playing guitar and singing, outdoor activities and traveling. It’s important for Wendy to make a positive difference in the world and she is currently writing a book to help singles transform their lives and create loving relationships.
An avid backpacker since she was twelve, Wendy loves to spend time in the wilderness at least once a year, and always jumps in the cold alpine lakes. Now we have our own pool, which she loves, especially in the summer.

Fun Facts About Wendy
Wendy swam in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, Mediterranean, Caribbean and Black Seas – in the same bathing suit! She’s also been to the Baltic Sea, and too many lakes and rivers to count. As a teenager, she often swam with her mother at the Venice Beach breakwater, where her mom was a “Penguin” (swam on New Year’s Day – brrrr!).
Wendy played with gray whales in Mexico, llamas in Peru, and monkeys in Bolivia (where she was a leadership delegate for Partners of the Americas). She’s also enjoyed encountering animals on her travels throughout the Americas, Europe and the Caribbean and especially loved the iguanas, tortoises and birds on a trip she led to the Galapagos Islands.
When she was a psychology professor in North Carolina, Wendy created and led a Cultural Immersion course in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. She and the students spent the winter living with, and working with villagers on a variety of community development projects, including building their first playground for the children. We all gained a deep appreciation and respect for the people we met, and our different cultures and customs. As a parent, Wendy is determined to introduce our child to people, places, and ways of living that differ from ours, and to help our child embrace diversity, and support others in fulfilling their dreams.
